Precision cutting on superalloys

The turbine materials sector (aerospace or energy) represents the extreme frontier of metallurgy. In this field, band saw blades must tackle materials
In the turbine materials sector (components and semi-finished products for gas/steam turbines in the energy and aerospace fields), high mechanical and thermal resistance alloys are often used: these are “hard” materials to cut, which put stress on the blade and machine due to their low machinability, the heat generated, accelerated wear, and the need to maintain constant tolerances and finishes even on repeated batches.
For these applications, ACC Srl produces specific types of blades, including the Certosa C3 model (made of hard metal): suitable for extremely “hard-to-cut” materials such as titanium alloys, Inconel, and nickel-based alloys, with a focus on stability and vibration reduction.
