Chrome-plated materials

In the chrome-plated materials sector (e.g., chrome-plated bars and tubes, rods, parts with hard chrome plating and often also surface hardening), cutting is more challenging because the outer layer is very abrasive: it increases wear, can chip the teeth, and makes it essential to maintain stability and precision throughout the entire cycle.

For these applications, the most suitable blade produced by ACC is Certosa CM (hard metal): specifically designed for surface-hardened and chrome-plated parts, with tooth geometry tailored to the material and a negative cutting angle (very robust and wear-resistant). It is designed specifically for machining chrome-plated/hardened peripheral layers such as thick tubes and round bars (construction or tool steels), with direct benefits in terms of blade life and productivity.
